Introduction of galvanized steel wire rope performance

Zinc layers of any thickness can be obtained by electrogalvanizing.

The highest value of zinc on hot-dip galvanizing is no more than 593gm2, which is currently practical electro-galvanizing. The amount of zinc can reach 1200gm2.

The coating is obtained by electro-deposition, and electro-galvanizing is obtained by applying an external power source. The obtained coating is composed of fine grains of pure zinc. Generally, the amount of zinc on the electro-galvanized layer can also reach 750gm2. When the galvanized steel wire is spirally entangled on a mandrel with a diameter of 5 times or 10 times the diameter of the steel wire, the zinc layer should not fall off or crack. The corrosion resistance of the galvanized layer should also be checked accordingly.

In order to ensure the quality of the wire rope, the surface of the galvanized layer of the steel wire should be smooth, complete, even and firm. Hot-dip galvanizing will reduce the mechanical properties of the steel wire. Galvanized steel wire rope with high strength and high corrosion resistance is required, and electro-galvanized steel wire is mostly twisted. Hot-dip galvanizing relies on physical thermal protection to form a coating. First, an iron-zinc compound is formed, and then a pure zinc layer is formed on the surface of the iron-zinc compound. There are two methods for galvanizing of galvanized steel wire rope - multi-wire continuous hot-dip galvanizing and electroplating.

For the single wire of galvanized steel wire rope, the weight of zinc layer, the number and time of copper sulfate test are specified, and the standard of implementation shall be indicated. For example: In GB/T8918-1996, the galvanized monofilament with diameter > 0.55~0.6mm is specified in Table 3, and it is carried out according to the test methods of GB2973-91 and GB2972--91, GB2973-91 respectively. The Japanese standard JISG3525 only stipulates the weight of the zinc layer. For the zinc wire with a diameter of 0.5~0.8m, the requirements listed in Table 4 are followed, and the test method of JISH0401 is used.
