Introduction of grease

According to the thickener, it can be divided into two categories: soap-based grease and non-soap-based grease. The thickeners of soap-based grease are commonly used metal soaps such as lithium, sodium, calcium, aluminum, zinc, etc., and metal soaps such as potassium, barium, lead, and manganese are also used. The thickeners of non-soap-based greases are made of graphite, carbon black, asbestos and synthetic ones (such as polyurea-based, bentonite). According to the application, they can be divided into general-purpose greases and special-purpose greases. The former is used for general mechanical parts. The latter are used in tractors, railway locomotives, marine machinery, oil drilling machinery, valves, etc. The main quality indicators are dropping point, penetration, ash and moisture. The indicators used to evaluate the stability of grease colloid are oil separation test, rolling bearing performance test, etc. The roller test is a test method for measuring the change in consistency under the action of rolling. The flow test is a test method for evaluating the pumpability of greases at low temperatures. The water leaching resistance test is a test method for evaluating the resistance of grease to water leaching out. Colloidal stability is the property of lubricating grease to maintain colloidal stability during storage and use, and liquid mineral oil will not be precipitated from grease. Mechanical stability is the ability of a grease to resist changes in consistency under mechanical working conditions. The ball bearing torque test is a test method for evaluating the low temperature performance of greases. Lubricating grease is a stable solid or semi-solid product formed by dispersing thickener in a liquid lubricant, in which additives and fillers designed to improve certain characteristics of the grease can be added. Grease can adhere to vertical surfaces without loss at normal temperature, and can work on open or poorly-sealed friction parts, and has an irreplaceable holding point that other lubricants cannot replace. In general, greases with the same soap base have better compatibility. Organoclay bases are incompatible with other bases. Therefore, grease is used as a lubricating material in many parts of automobiles and construction machinery, which is what we often call butter!
