Scrapping standards for wire rope slings

When one of the following situations occurs, the wire rope sling should be stopped from use, repaired or scrapped:

1. One strand of the wire rope is broken, or the surface wire is abraded to more than 40% of the wire diameter, or the wire rope diameter is reduced by more than 7%.

2. The Coated steel wire rope sling is twisted and deformed.

3. The broken wires of the wire rope exceed the standard within one lay pitch: (1) When the broken wires occur locally and the broken wires occur on one strand in a section with a length of 6 times the diameter, half of the specified number of broken wires should be considered. scrapped. (2) When the steel wire rope is rusted or worn, the number of scrapped and broken wires should be multiplied by the reduction factor.

4. Broken wire damage can be seen in parts of the wire rope (more than three broken wires are gathered together).

5. Broken wires appear on the surface of the grommet, or the broken wires are concentrated in the metal casing, near the plug-in joint, and in the plug-in connecting strands.

6. The strength of the steel wire rope decreases due to burning of the wire rope caused by electrified arcing, scalding in molten metal, or long-term exposure to high temperature environments.

7. The plug-in joint is severely squeezed and worn; the metal casing is damaged (such as cracks, severe deformation, corrosion) or the diameter is reduced to 95% of the original diameter.

8. The metal sleeve or plug connection part of the fixed connection at the rope end slides out.
